Ivy wandered around in circles over and over again as he tried to get out of Viridian Forest's maze of trees. Eventually he gave up and stood near a particularly large redwood and rested. Looking up, he saw a trainer nearby and as such things go, he knew he had to battle soon. With a sigh of disbelief, he tossed out a Pokeball and called out Beedrill.

Rose had been wandering the Kanto region after deciding to get out and leave her home region of Unova to explore and see more of the world. Right now, she almost regretted it after getting herself stuck in Viridian Forest. Seriously, this place was way too big and had way too many bugs. Sighing, she looked up to see that she'd been spotted by another Trainer who already had out his Pokemon. A Beedrill, eh?

"Hey, you looking for a fight?" she called out, reaching for a Pokeball and calling out her Eelektross.

Ivy scratched his head and winced. "Nothing better to do, eh?" He shrugged at his own weak come back and turned his thoughts to battle. "Beedrill, use Swagger." The boy watched as the bee Pokemon swayed back and forth, in an attempt to both enrage and confuse the enemy.

Rose sighed when an angry vein appeared on her Pokemon's head as it flailed its arms in rage and confusion. "Oh for Arceus' sake... Eelektross, Flamethrower, go!" She crossed her fingers and hoped that Eelektross would attack Beedrill and not itself. Or burn the forest down, for that matter.

Ivy watched as the abnormally large wave of flames headed towards himself and Beedrill. At the very last moment, he acted. The Flamethrower struck hard and caused many trees to topple over whilst engulfed in flames. Beedrill stepped from the heat, without a scratch on him. Glad that Endeavor worked, his trainer grinned across the fire at his opponent. "Now go, Poison Jab." Like a streak of light, the Bug-Pokemon took off like a rocket and was in Eelektross' face before anyone could blink. Within a few seconds, a massive stinger was drawn back and thrust forward, in an attempt to end the battle quickly.

'Crap crap crap crap crap...' Rose watched Beedrill pull its stinger back, aiming right at her Pokemon's face. She had to think of something if she wanted to get out of this. She could tell that the confusion had yet to wear off, so she just had to hope. "Eelektross, use Crunch to grab Beedrill and send it flying!"

Beedrill was caught by the stinger just as the Poison Jab landed and tossed into the trees with a great amount of force. Ivy could no longer see him, but could hear the snapping of branches as he flew ever deeper amongst the forest. After a brief second, the Pokemon floated silently back into the open and glared at the Eelektross. Pleased that no visible or lasting damage was done, Ivy gave in to his Pokemon's obvious bloodlust.

"Fighter's stance, Beedrill," was the odd command that lead to the Pokemon adopting a boxing stance and swaying from side to side, rhythmically. "Now get close and use Poison Jab until you hit him, and Swagger when you aren't." Beedrill's stingers both glowed a toxic shade of purple as he sped back towards his opponent, swaying and using Swagger as he came. Once he got close enough, he threw a barrage of Poison Jab attacks at the Eelektross, looking very much like a Hitmonchan in his technique.

Rose gritted her teeth, watching the Beedrill's movements as her Eelektross just grew angrier and angrier. Its attack strength was probably maxed out by now. She couldn't risk it hurting itself now. "Eelektross, just try to hold your ground!" She'd spent some time training her Pokemon to take a hit or two, so she hoped that maybe taking one of those Poison Jabs wouldn't be too much of a problem. She bit her lip as Beedrill got closer and closer, jabbing at Eelektross who cried out in pain and rage and attacked without a prompt from her, launching an up-close-and-personal Flamethrower. "Eelektross! I didn't tell you to do that!"

From his vantage point, Ivy saw the flames coming but spoke a second too late. "BEEDRILL, ENDEAVOR!" Immediately, the Pokemon brought up his guard and the flames passed harmlessly on either side of him. He waited for the Flamethrower to fizzle out then quickly assessed the injuries. He was singed and definitely hurt (he could tell by the heavy breathing Beedrill was doing), but he could still fight. "Keep it up Beedrill, Poison Jab, and don't forget to use your wings to dodge if you need to!" The words were barely out of his mouth before Beedrill resumed his barrage of blows, but this time he flitted all around his stationary target. Using his superior speed and flight capabilities, Beedrill was but a blur of gold and purple as his blows struck out time and time again.

"This isn't going to work. Eelektross, return!" She called her Pokemon back before it took too many blows from Beedrill's deadly stingers and reached for a different Pokeball. "Go, Cofagrigus!" The coffin Pokemon popped out in a flash of light with a sinister grin. "Use your special Will-O-Wisp!" she yelled, her Pokemon quickly following orders and sending out balls of ghostly fire at Beedrill, controlled by Psychic.

Ivy saw Beedrill get hit time and time again by the uncanny firealls and knew that it was taking it's toll. Knowing that he was still willing to fight, the trainer sadly left him in. "Switch it up, use your speed to avoid the flames as much as you can. Use Swagger and Assurance." The Pokemon sped around and boxed as he did before, not nearly as fast as before due to burns, but still fast enough to avoid many of the flames.

Once Beedrill had been burned, Rose smirked to herself. It was time. "Mean Look!" Through the rage brought about by the Swagger, Cofagrigus locked eyes with Beedrill and froze it in place so it couldn't flee. "Now, use Hex!" She hoped it would work. With those burns, Hex would be really powerful and knock tat Beedrill right out.

Ivy's eye twitched as Beedrill dropped suddenly, the burns on his body finally overwhelming him. Calling him back, he kissed the Pokeball and thanked him for fighting. He tossed another Pokeball out and smiled. "Volcarona, Fire Spin!" The Sun Pokemon obliged by immediately launching a beautiful cyclone of fire around the Ghost Pokemon.

Cofagrigus winced as the surrounding flames caused it pain. Rose clenched her jaw as she quickly thought of the best way to counteract it. "Cofagrigus, use Psychic to get rid of that Fire Spin!" The coffin Pokemon's eyes glowed as it took control of the inferno and dispelled it, grinning and chuckling in its creepy way. "Use Psychic again to beat that Volcarona around a bit!" Its eyes glowed again as it took control of Volcarona's body with its psychic abilities and sent it hurdling to the ground.

Volcarona was tossed around, hitting both trees and the ground, before the Psychic attack relented. "You alright," Ivy called out worriedly. The Bug Pokemon rose into the air again and gave a sound of affirmation. Relieved for the moment, he puzzled as to how to beat the Cofagrigus. Why the fuck did I become a Bug Trainer anyway, he thought angrily before he had a sudden brainstorm and chuckled dementedly. "Volcarona, use Take Down to quickly get to him!"

The Pokemon was clearly confused but followed the instructions quickly, speeding at the Ghost Pokemon in a flash before making contact and passing through the immaterial body. "Good, now stop while you're inside of it!" At this, Volcarona made an audiable sound somewhere between disgust and confusion. But it stayed in the middle of the Cofagrigus as it hovered, completely obscuring sight of the Pokemon. Ivy chuckled at his plan to protect Volcarona from attacks, since the Ghost Pokemon would have to attack himself to get at his target. "Now, Wild Charge!" Being 'on top' of the target, the Sun Pokemon simply inhaled deeply and gathered a powerful electric charge within him before releasing it from inside of his target.

Rose stared as Volcarona hovered inside Cofagrigus's ethereal body, attacking her Pokemon from the inside with the electric attack. 'Crap! Gotta think...' "Quick, Cofagrigus, use Psychic to propel yourself through the closest tree!" Cofagrigus followed its Trainer's orders, glowing blue as it sent itself flying at a nearby tree in the blink of an eye, passing straight through it as the Sun Pokemon was forced to either leave the ghost body or collide with the tree.

Checkmate. "Set the forest on fire with Fire Spin and Flame Charge!" Volcarona obliged happily, flashing around on fire while creating dozens of flaming cyclones to destroy the landscape.

Rose tried not to panic as the crazy moth set everything on fire. "Are you nuts?!" she called out, quickly calling Cofagrigus back to send out her Octillery. "Octillery, use Bubblebeam to put out the fire and stop Volcarona!" Octillery obeyed and shot out beam after beam of bubbles to quell the flames before they did too much damage, taking aim at Volcarona next.

"Volcarona, use Take Down and head directly for Octillery while firing a continuous Fire Spin." The Sun Pokemon obeyed and headed quickly for the Jet Pokemon, but Ivy noticed it wasn't having the effect he wanted. Lightbulb. "Spin!" As confused as ever, the Volcarona spun which caused his speed to increase and the Fire Spin shield to deflect more and more of the Bubblebeam attack. He waited until he made it close enough..."Now, Wild Charge!"

Rose watched and waited until Volcarona was close enough, just as its Trainer called for the electric attack. "Now! Wring Out!" Octillery leapt up and grabbed the moth with its tentacles, squeezing powerfully. "Follow with Fire Blast!" The octopus charged up its fire and blasted the powerful attack at point blank range, not letting the Bug Type go.

"Fuck. Me." Ivy watched as Octillery let go of the moth Pokemon and it fell to the ground, unconscious. Calling him back, he once again kissed the Pokeball and thanked yet another Pokemon for fighting with him. She's good. But I can't really afford to lose. With that, he tossed out a new Pokeball. "Kabutops, let's end this quickly. Slash, let's go!" The ancient Pokemon flashed forward and swung his giant scythed limbs at the Octillery.

'Oh crap...' "Octillery, stand your ground and use Gunk Shot!" With an affirmative cry, Octillery fired a large glob of poisonous filth straight at the oncoming fossil with as much force and speed as the Jet Pokemon could muster. She hoped it would be enough to at least slow Kabutops down.

Kabutops saw the fluid flying towards him and used his scythes to cut through it without hesitation. Upon raising them again to prepare to strike, he noticed that a bunch of the mess was coating his arms. He growled in frustration and Ivy deigned to help him vent it. "Blizzard." With a blast of energy, the weather changed instantly as high-speed winds and ridiculously cold ice shards whipped around the area in a cyclone of terror. Knowing what was coming, Ivy had enough time to get out of the immediate area, and now rested in a tree quite a few yards away, watching and waiting.

Rose quickly covered her face as snow and ice suddenly blew in. She wasn't too worried, she knew Octillery could take it with the type disadvantage. "Use Fire Blast to warm this place back up and push Kabutops back!" A torrent of flame shot from Octillery's mouth, countering the ice attack and blasting through it on its way to the fossil Pokemon.

Before the Fire Blast could continue on and completely negate the effects of the Blizzard, Ivy called out to Kabutops and the Pokemon responded immediately; he disappeared. He then reappeared over the Octillery's head, water from the Aqua Jet streaming down his body, and used Giga Drain at point-blank range.
